In nearly every instance Wavertree solvents cost less to purchase than those they replace. Additionally, due to their lower toxicity handling costs may be reduced. Not only can Wavertree Solvents readily dissolve difficult target materials e.g. Polyimide (PI), Polyetherimide (PEI) they generally can do so to higher concentrations and much faster, up to 100x faster! They also produce solutions with lower surface tension and viscosity, particularly useful in coating applications. Taken together, as an example for multicoat processes it may be possible to eliminate passes yielding increased throughput and capacity.as well as products with better substrate adhesion etc.
